History
St. Andrew's Elementary is central to the history of Catholic Education on Vancouver Island. Our school's site at Pandora Avenue and Vancouver Street was the location of the original Catholic Boys' School, St. Louis' College, which opened in 1864. The present building was constructed in 1931.
Following the closure of St. Louis' College in 1968, Sr. (Theodoric) Mary Bann opened St. Andrew's Elementary on this site where it has continued to serve the Greater Victoria area for the past 41 years. St. Andrew's Regional High School was also housed at the location from 1976 until 1983, when they moved to their present location in Saanich.
